--- Travels with B.D. Episode I --- With his navigational system on the fritz due to a photon pulse, a mini Battle Droid touches down next to where I'm lunching on a hike in Zion National Park. With strict orders from Vader to search out and destroy any rebels from the "Rebellion" but finding none, he chooses to pass the time with some target practice on my one and only can of Chicken Noodle Soup. What's up with that!!!???............DUDE!........... Knock it off, that's my LUNCH !!!!!
--- Travels with B.D. Episode II --- It was an exciting day for Battle Droid. He stumbled upon an ant colony. I told him they were just a common lower life form but he insisted it was a Rebel outpost. He said it would be a "most excellent massacre in honor of Lord Vader". The rest of the day he kept ending every sentence with the word "Ant". He said it rolls off his tongue nicely..........(I didn't know he had one).
--- Travels with B.D. Episode III --- All tuckered out from the "Victory at Ant Hill" as it came to be known on Droid Planet, Battle Droid says he needs to lay down and reboot. He asks me for a blanket (!?) The only thing I had was the lens cloth for my binoculars. I finally thought I was going to get some quiet time and then he starts sucking his thumb!! I can't believe they actually programmed thumbsucking sounds into his linguistics module!!!
--- Travels with B.D. Episode IV --- On this particular hike today we had to free climb for a short distance. Battle Droid was having difficulty and I finally had to tell him "Look, droid dude, you need to lose the gun. Because as little as they are, you really need both arms for this." He told me to "stick it" in his increasingly annoying Mr. Roboto voice and promptly vaporized an overweight Norwegian tourist who was blocking his way for the last 10 minutes. I guess the gun was useful after all.
--- Travels with B.D. Episode V --- It seems the longer B.D. is here on Earth, the more he is succumbing to it's corrupting influences. Early today in the Zion NP visitors center parking lot a car drove by blasting out some obnoxious rap song and that's all it took!! Now B.D's. got his "Bling all goin on" and whenever we meet anyone he introduces us as "BB Cool D & Lil' J" (sigh)
